Terrific scene of fireworks exploding in a dazzling display over the Ryogoku Bridge spanning the Sumida River. Large pleasure boats and smaller crafts fill the river and pedestrians crowd the bridge to enjoy the cool evening air and watch the show. A few clouds drift across the foreground, with rooftops framing the view. An attractive composition and a charming view of this favorite summer pastime. The Boston Museum of Fine Arts has this image in its collection.
